Genealogy links (NY, MA, CT, general, Jewish)
Most of my research involves Poland, Belorus/Russia, NY, MA, and CT, so I'm
putting this page together to save time in looking for the links.
I am an amateur genealogist. This is a hobby. While researching my
family, I've come across these links. Hopefully, they will be helpful to
you. If you require the services of a professional genealogist, though,
please check in the soc.genealogy.* newsgroups. I'm still relatively (pun
partially intended) new at this myself.

- EllisIsland_Lvov-Lwow-Lemberg.tar.gz: immigrants from Lvov/Lwow/Lemberg found in the Ellis Island records using Steve Morse's blue form", in .tar.gz'd Excel file
- EllisIsland_myGaliciantowns-xc-Lvov.tar.gz: immigrants from Bialykamin, Gologory, Nowy Sacz/Nysont, Przemysl (and some from Premyslany, because some spelling variants could have been either), Sasov, Zloczow/Zlutchif/Zolochev and similarly-spelled places found in the Ellis Island records using Steve Morse's blue form", in .tar.gz'd Excel file
- EllisIsland_Wolfs-.tar.gz: Wolfshaut and similar names I've found in the Ellis Island records, in .tar.gz'd Excel file
- New upload as of 6/28/05!
EllisIsland_strangespellings-list.txt: strange spelling variations, typos, misinterpretations, etc. of some Galician towns that I've found in the Ellis Island records, in a text file. Most seem to be messed-up versions of Bialy Kamien, Bialystok, Przemysl or Przemyslany, and Zloczow and similar-sounding towns.
Please remember that I am *not* an expert on any of these town names or on Galician geography. I know several are not what I thought they were. However, you might make the same mistakes I did - you're welcome to use these to filter your results in any way you like.
- In a similar vein: Ada Green (Greenblatt) told me that a few years ago she compiled this listing of all known Bialy Kamien variants in the EIDB that she could find.
